Aluminum Discs for Cookware Production

Home Aluminum DiscsAluminum Discs for Cookware Production

Aluminum discs are the starting blank for most aluminum cookware. Papilla supplies discs sized for frying pans, pots, saucepans, pressure cooker bodies and other drawn or spun parts — quoted against the specification your line runs.

How cookware manufacturers actually use the disc

The disc determines more of the finished pan than most sourcing conversations admit. Three forming routes dominate cookware production, and each puts different demands on the blank:

Downstream, the surface matters too: a body that will be coated has to take the non-stick system evenly, so surface condition and cleanliness of the blank are part of the specification, not an afterthought. Papilla's own plant forms these blanks by pressing and forging and coats them with three methods (roller, curtain and spray) at approximately 2,000,000 pieces per month — so we specify discs the way a cookware plant reads them rather than the way a metals catalogue lists them.

Aluminum disc capabilities

Specifications are quoted to your requirement. Where a field below reads “On request — send your specification”, it means we price it against what you send us rather than publishing a fixed range — cookware buyers rarely need the same combination twice.

Specifying the blank for the part you are making

Cookware buyers usually arrive with the finished pan in mind rather than the blank, so it helps to work backwards. Three questions decide most of the specification:

Rather than publishing a fixed range that may not match your process, we quote against your answers to those three questions. Send the part, the forming route and the volume, and we will come back with what is feasible.

Applications

Discs and circles are formed into frying pans, pots, saucepans, sauté pans, pressure cooker bodies, casseroles and commercial kitchenware — by deep drawing, metal spinning or press forming. The cookware applications page covers what each forming route demands of the blank.

Why cookware manufacturers buy from us

Raw aluminum discs are produced in-house through our group, the largest pure-aluminum disc manufacturing operation in Türkiye. Our own cookware plant runs on the same material, production is certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007, with BSCI, SEDEX and ICS audits, and Papilla exports to 85+ countries. Sizes are quoted against your drawing or written specification — see the overview for the full picture.

How to request a quotation

A complete specification gets a real price instead of a range. Send these eight items and we can quote directly:

If some of it is still open — a diameter you are still deciding, a volume that depends on a tender — send what you have. We would rather start the conversation than wait for a perfect brief.

Frequently asked questions

Which cookware can be made from aluminum discs?

Frying pans, pots, saucepans, sauté pans, pressure cooker bodies, casseroles, kettles and commercial kitchenware — essentially any round drawn or spun aluminum vessel, including bodies that are later non-stick coated.

What aluminum alloy is used for cookware discs?

Cookware blanks are normally supplied in a pure or lightly alloyed grade chosen for formability and heat conduction. Tell us the alloy and temper your process requires — or describe the part and forming route — and we will quote to it.

Does the disc affect non-stick coating quality?

Indirectly, yes. The coating is applied to the formed body, so the blank's surface condition and consistent wall thickness after forming affect how evenly the coating sits.

Can you supply discs for pressure cooker bodies?

Yes — send the diameter, thickness, alloy and volume for the body you form, and we will quote it like any other drawn part.

What information do you need to prepare a quotation?

Send the alloy and temper, the diameter and thickness, the quantity, the intended application, your destination country and your required delivery time. With those details we can quote precisely rather than approximately.

Can you produce custom aluminum disc diameters and thicknesses?

Yes. Custom dimensions are quoted against your drawing or written specification. Send the sizes you need and the volume, and we will confirm what is feasible.
