What an aluminum disc is, and who buys one

An aluminum disc — also called an aluminum circle — is a round blank cut from aluminum coil or sheet. It is the starting material for almost every pressed or spun aluminum cooking vessel: the blank is drawn, spun or pressed into the body of a pan or pot, then trimmed, finished and coated.

The buyers are cookware factories, kitchenware producers and metal-forming workshops. What they care about is rarely the metal alone: it is dimensional consistency between batches, predictable forming behaviour on their presses, and a supplier who can hold both across repeat orders. A disc that varies in thickness or diameter shows up immediately as scrap on a deep-drawing line.

Papilla sits on both sides of that relationship. We are a cookware manufacturer ourselves, producing at approximately 2,000,000 pieces per month, and our group supplies the raw discs those lines run on. Raw aluminum discs are produced in-house through our group, the largest pure-aluminum disc manufacturing operation in Türkiye. That means the discs we sell are made to the tolerance a working cookware plant demands — because our own plant depends on them.

Specifications are quoted to your requirement. Where a field below reads “On request — send your specification”, it means we price it against what you send us rather than publishing a fixed range — cookware buyers rarely need the same combination twice.

Applications

Aluminum discs and circles are formed into cookware and other round hollow parts. Typical finished products include:

Frying pansPressed or drawn bodies, usually non-stick coated
Pots & casserolesDeeper draws, often multi-stage
SaucepansSmaller diameters, single-handle bodies
Pressure cooker bodiesHeavier gauge, tighter tolerance
Non-stick cookwareSurface condition matters for coating adhesion
Commercial kitchenwareHigher gauges for professional service

Forming routes: deep drawing · metal spinning · press forming. Discs are also used outside cookware for lighting reflectors, signage and general metal-spinning work.

Frequently asked questions

What are aluminum discs used for?

Aluminum discs are the raw blanks used to form cookware and other round hollow parts. Cookware manufacturers deep-draw, spin or press them into frying pans, pots, saucepans, pressure cooker bodies and similar items. They are also used for lighting reflectors, signage and general metal-spinning work.

What is the difference between an aluminum disc and an aluminum circle?

There is no difference — they are two names for the same product. Buyers in some markets say disc, others say circle. Both refer to a round aluminum blank cut to a specified diameter and thickness.

Do you supply discs to cookware manufacturers outside your own production?

Yes. Send your specification and volume and we will quote. Our group's disc operation supplies our own cookware lines and external buyers.

What information do you need to prepare a quotation?

Send the alloy and temper, the diameter and thickness, the quantity, the intended application, your destination country and your required delivery time. With those details we can quote precisely rather than approximately.

Can you produce custom aluminum disc diameters and thicknesses?

Yes. Custom dimensions are quoted against your drawing or written specification. Send the sizes you need and the volume, and we will confirm what is feasible.
